Has Your Pest Control Company Been Sold To A National Chain? Watch Out For This.

Jonathan Simkins

Insect IQ is a local pest control company. We believe in knowing our customers. We believe in a personal approach, and we will always be here for you as a member of the community.

Unfortunately, some of the other local pest control companies are selling to national brands.

Here's what might be happening to you.

The pest control company you've been using for years has been sold to a national chain, and you're worried about what this means for your service.

While you may have been promised nothing is going to change, there are some things that can go wrong when this happens.

1. Big companies lose the personal touch. When a small business gets bought out by a big one, they often lose its identity and become just another part of the company. It's not your local small business in the community anymore. It's corporate.

2. Big companies turn you into a number. Pest control companies are businesses, so they want to make money off of every customer they have — which means they want as many customers as possible. But when you're getting service from someone who doesn't know you personally, it's hard for them to care about your problem and get it resolved. When you have a personal relationship with your pest control company, you know who your going to call, their name, and trust that the pests will be eliminated

3. Big companies send different people to your house. They experience turnover, and their policies may disrupt the services you are used to. Different people are visiting your house each month, which can be a little disturbing. How do you know the "trustworthiness" of their most recent hire?

4. Your costs may change. Inevitably you will start to see additional fees, additional service costs, surcharges, and other new costs. You'll call the office and find yourself in a call center.

If you don't like the corporate feel and treatment, you have options.

Look for a local pest control company. Make sure the operation is owner/operated. Ask them about how they handle their customers, how many trucks they have, and what areas they service. And make sure to check us out. Insect IQ has been servicing the Tampa Bay community for over 25 years. Our founder is our owner and is our entomologist.

We are family-owned, we are local, and we are proud to call ourselves a small business. We provide jobs here in the Tampa Bay area and believe every homeowner is more than a number. They are a member of our community and deserve the best pest control service.
