Fly Control | Insect IQ offers Fly control in the Tampa Bay Area

Several types of nonbiting flies can be found in and around farms, residences, and food-handling spots. These pests cause annoyance and discomfort, as well as being hazardous to human health and feeding on a variety of foods. Houseflies are known by many as the most common and bothersome type of fly.

There are several types of houseflies, and many are able to transmit diseases to humans. These can usually be divided into groups according to their habits and appearance, such as the housefly and its relatives; flesh flies, moth flies, blowflies, bottle flies; filter flies; soldier flies; and vinegar (fruit) flies.

Sanitation is still the best method for preventing and controlling filth flies around the home and on the farm. Flies seek breeding places in which garbage, animal droppings, or vegetation residues accumulate. Locate and thoroughly clean such places. Dry, spread, or somehow get rid of dog, cat, or other animal excrements. Do not let garbage accumulate in the open, and ensure garbage cans have sound bottoms and tight-fitting lids.
